PHTHALIMIDOPEROXYCAPROIC ACID (PAP)
is a patented ingredient that attacks unnatural double bonds that cause tooth discolouration. The component dissolves discolouration present in the enamel in a gentle and effective way. This is done through the oxidation of compounds called chromophores, which have double bonds in their structure, disintegrated by the acid. Chromophores or colour compounds constitute a group of chemical substances present in such stimulants as coffee, tea, cola or red wine. Oxidation leads to the formation of colourless compounds. This gives the teeth a lighter shade. This way, the tooth surface is whitened and stains are removed. PAP particles, in contrast to intensively abrasive whitening agents,
reduce the visibility of discolouration in a non-invasive way, resulting in a naturally white smile.
