This has strong antibacterial properties while being gentle on the mucosa and skin.
It has the ability to fight Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and certain viruses, yeasts and protozoa; it inhibits plaque build-up and has an anti-inflammatory effect.This compound can also bond to the surface of the oral mucosa and plaque from where it is gradually released, thus extending its antiseptic effect. As chlorhexidine remains in the oral cavity for significantly longer than traditional mouthwashes, its effectiveness is greater. Therefore, preparations with chlorhexidine are often recommended after dental procedures, accelerating wound healing and reducing tissue inflammation.
